YAY!

Yay, I have a desk now that takes pride of place where the unused cot used to be. I stumbled across this $10 sanctuary at a charity shop in Opawa, it was love at first sight and the price was awesome to boot! A day later it is in my space and ready to go :) Yay! No more trying to create on a 10"x10" space. The kids think it is great and I am hoping that the novelty will wear off it for them pretty quickly, although I doubt it will for Miss Abbey, she loves to sit and create :) Now that I have this desk, I will be able to craft more (time permitting) and post more often (but don't hold your breath lol).

A Wonderful Find :)

I found these at Spotlight today when I wandered through the quilting section to get to the paper crafting section LOL and I stopped when I caught a packet of these out of the corner of my eye. I grabbed them and thought "WOW!, I know exactly what to do with these!"
A while ago I bought some plain hair clips and was going to attempt to punch through the ends with a Crop-a-Dile to create the hole but in finding these I don't have to worry about it, plus I don't have a Crop-a-Dile (yet). These are Quilting and Hemming clips aka Hair clips with holes in. When I got home after picking up the children, I got out my supplies and created these--------->

Aren't they cool? There were four but Miss Three grabbed one and has been running around all afternoon with it in her hair. I used the Felt Fusion Flowers (I only had a handful given to me by my awesome upline Lisa Johnson) and I attached them with a Rhinestone Brad, bending the prongs around and clamping them underneath with a pair of pliers. Total time to make this?, approximately 1 minute each if that!

I now am kicking myself for not ordering the Crochet Flower accents in the new Summer Mini Catalogue as how cool would they look? So my next order to Stampin' Up! will include some Felt Fusion Flowers (both colours *tee hee*), more Rhinestone brads and the crochet accent flowers, among other stuff LOL. Anyways if I get too busy to post on here before the Jolly Man in the red suit visits, I wish all you readers a very happy Christmas and good health, lots of wealth and happiness for the coming year xx

Christmas swaps, fun but *whew*

It is Christmas time and last night we had our team meeting. These are fantastic, great group of people sharing ideas, discussing all things stamping, having a play and SWAPS! This is the fun part where you take a set amount of the same item that you have created and then swap them for the same amount of different items, giving you a variable feast of ideas and samples, it is AWESOME, like Christmas has come early. Even though we were focusing on samples from the "about to be released" Summer Mini catalogue (being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you get to pre-order before the release date *yay*) I was still in the mood for Christmas (could be because our telephone's ringtone is set onto Jingle Bells LOL) so I made a little gift for everyone. It is a little chocolate holder that contains one Whittikars chocolate square and the box is held closed by the belly band. Dawn Griffith's channel on youtube has a video tutorial on how to make the poinsettias with the five-petal flower punch, you can view that here. Hopefully, I will have time to post up a few more photos tomorrow, but in the meantime I have to go and cook Dinner for the children :)

Long Time No See...

Life is just so busy at the moment. I have a few health issues that I am dealing with so my stamping is out of necessesity rather than for pleasure i.e. I still refuse to buy cards now, no matter how crook I am feeling! I made a card for a friend to give someone who had a loved one pass away and, as always, I grabbed my versatile favourite stamp sets that covers every kind of occasion - Baroque Motifs and Great Friend. The subtle bling that I added was some beading wire wrapped around the butterfly with some seed beads threaded on and then twisted to form the antenae of the butterfly. I love the simple elegance of Baroque Motifs and it always seems to get an Ooh and an Aah out of most people, long may it live, it will be a sad day when SU! retire this set.

Jazzy New Clothes :)

Look what my 15 year old daughter made for me, a new header for my blog :) She knows my favourite Disney character is Tigger and she said it looked off balance so she put my second favourite, Eeyore. I wanted purple but when she showed me this with all the colours, yeehaa we had a winner! I am working on a deeply personal project at the moment, I am embellishing the memory book that was signed by attendees at my cousins funeral. I am taking my time with this as it has to be perfect and it will be sent down to my Aunt, it is my contribution seeing as I couldn't travel down for the funeral due to other family commitments.
School holidays are on at the moment, but I hope (after I have finished the book) to get creative again when I don't have children "helping" me LOL and will try to get a halfway decent picture to post instead of the grainy cellphone pictures or the blurry dinosaur digi cam pictures. In the meantime have fun and TTFN ;)

Thinking ahead and other stuff...

I am (trying) to get organised so I bought next years diary, it looked plain and boring and I bought it for this reason *tee hee* anyone who is a papercrafter (or any crafter) will jazz up plain boring things. ;) So with a bit of Designer Series paper, card stock, Scallop Edge Punch and a stamp, we have the finished article :) It has month to a page and week to a page features, which is great, I can see at a glance when I have free dates for *important* appointments like creative nights and such :D
I had every intention of punching along the edge with the Spiral punch so the card stock would slot around the spiral binding but *sigh* the spirals were too close together. I like it and that is all that matters and Miss "Going to be a Stampin' Up! lady when I grow up" has put in her request for one. *cute*
On a much much sadder note :'( My beautiful, outgoing, happy go lucky cousin lost her fight to cancer last week after a short but courageous battle with the devastating disease. The bottom fell out of our world with her passing and we are only grateful that she did pass quickly and is no longer in pain. She passed the same day as Patrick Swayze and we came up with the theory that she wanted to head him off at the pearly gates for a dirty dance ;) She will be missed terribly and the world needs more people like her. We will miss you Leah xxx
